There may not be shortcuts in life,
but there are in Teams

Many users find that using an external keyboard with keyboard shortcuts for Microsoft Teams on Windows helps them work more efficiently. For users with mobility or vision disabilities, keyboard shortcuts can be easier than using the touchscreen.

What are keyboard shortcuts

Keys or combinations of keys that provide an alternative way to do something that you would typically do with a menu, a mouse, or an application (software) feature.

Tip of the Day

Using zoom features in Teams

What is zoom? What is it important to me?

You may have heard about Zoom Meetings, that’s not what this tip is about today.

When referring to an image or graphic, whether it is a physical photograph or a digital screen, zoom describes the function of focusing on a section of the graphic while increasing or decreasing it overall size. It causes text and graphics in a window frame to appear different on the screen.

Zooming in brings the detail for a particular item into sharp focus. However, it often takes away from the picture.

Zooming out allows you to see the whole picture. Staying zoomed out for too long will lead you to miss certain details.

If you decide to use the zoom features, you will need to adopt a healthy balance between the two.

How does it work?

Use your keyboard or mouse to make the Teams interface bigger or smaller, using the same familiar controls you might already be using with your browser.

ActionWindows
Zoom outCtrl+-
~or~
Ctrl+(rotate mouse wheel up)
Zoom outCtrl+-
~or~
Ctrl+(rotate mouse wheel down)
Reset zoomCtrl+0

Teams makes the test call to a bot.

How do bot calls work?

Meetings and calls are not the best time to be scrambling for the on and off switches.

Depending on your location and environment, you may have the need to toggle off and on video, audio, and background blur.

Using the following keyboard shortcuts to quickly switch the feature on and off:

ShortcutAction
Ctrl+Shift+OTurn your camera on and off
Ctrl+Shift+MMute yourself
Ctrl+Shift+Pfor that background blur look
