There are multiple ways to share files with team members

Sharing Files in a Teams Chat
To send a file in a one-on-one chat, select Choose file
beneath the compose box, select the file you want to share, and then send.

Adding Files to Teams
Every Team Channel has a Post, Files, and Wiki tab
The Posts tab is the defaulted view.
To add files from your computer to a channel:
- Select Teams Menu option on the left
- Click on desired channel to highlight
- Select the Files Tab
- Select Upload
- Choose your file
Your file will now appear in your file tab with your other documents.
It’s that easy.
Sharing File Locations with other Team Members
To share files from your computer to a channel:
- Select Teams Menu option on the left
- Click on desired channel to highlight
- Select the Files Tab
- Locate and hover over the file you would like to share.
- Click on the …
- Select the “Get Link” option
Microsoft Teams is the default. This selection would allow you to send a link to a channel member and view the document directly in MS Teams.
This method is recommended to send to active users of Teams. (Actives users may include those who add documents, set up meetings, and/or initiate calls.)
Use the SharePoint link for those Team members that are less active in Teams. (Document will be presented to member in browser.)
- Select Copy
- Paste in desired Teams location or email and send.
